Hyrule
Hyrule is the most common place the Zelda world takes place within. It is a large country with many different types of scenery and features. While most of the central plains are governed by Zelda, she is sure to keep alliances with the many other races that can be found there. Most versions of Hyrule have the following specific locations, though the setup of where these places are often changes.
Death Mountain
The rightfully named Death Mountain is the largest volcano in all of Hyrule. While active it has not erupted for hundreds of years, allowing the Gorons to develop an entire village in its shadow. Death Mountain has frequent rockslides, pockets of lava rising to the surface, jets of powerful steam, and many more hazards for those who try to brave its slope. The ore found within Death Mountain Crater is considered a rare delicacy to the Gorons and is known as the hottest naturally occurring ore found in the world, able to evaporate even the most solid ice within seconds.
Great Ocean
The vast ocean that touches Hyrule is simply known as the Great Ocean by those living on the mainland. Within this ocean are many islands that are located nearby that people sail to. The seas are treacherous however, with all manner of violent sea creatures, powerful winds, and even pirates roaming the coastline. Going even further out is not necessarily recommended without large ships made for travel across vast expanses, as it's mostly unexplored that far off the coastline. Within the ocean are many mysteries that have not yet been discovered and riches long forgotten, making seafaring a luxurious job for those willing to dive into its waters and brave the dangers that come forth at sea.
Haunted Desert
The desert near Hyrule proper is generally called the Haunted Desert due to the spirits that walk through it and the constant struggle to not get lost due to mirages or sandstorms. Whole civilizations have been claimed by the shifting sands of this desert, becoming spirits themselves. It's never a surprise when a huge shift in the desert makes whole cities appear or disappear in an instant, either bringing up the past or burying the present.
Hyrule Castle
Hyrule Castle Town is the largest city within the country and is in an ideal location that allows it to be a large center for commerce and trade, commonly housing at least a few of every sentient race at all times. People from all over come to Hyrule Castle Town to make a living and earn their start, hoping that the goddesses will bless them on their way to fame and fortune.
Hyrule Field
Hyrule consists primarily of vast fields bridging the many other, more extreme areas within the land together. These fields are generally open without many living there directly and many old roads to traverse from the different points of interest in the region. While open they are not without dangers and activity; farmers, blin, and merchants can all often be found within the fields amongst other things.
Lake Hylia
Lake Hylia is the largest body of freshwater found within Hyrule. The lake’s water is crystal clear and protected by the Water Dragon Faron, with many underwater creatures thriving within the lake as well. The beautiful waters and their healing properties are coveted by land creatures as well, often making resorts, fishing spots, and even laboratories near its shoreline.
Lon Lon Ranch
When Hyrule was still in its infancy the original king of the land made a deal with a young man to sell a large swath of land to them in exchange for constant supplies and food from whatever they manage to grow there. Nowadays the family and royal family are still very connected and very profitable from the arrangement their ancestors made. Lon Lon Ranch serves most of Hyrule their dairy and meat products thanks to the livestock that are raised there, with cuccos, cows, horses, and goats all being used in multiple ways to provide food.
Lost Woods
The densest part of the forests of Hyrule is known as the Lost Woods, a place shrouded in chaotic magic formed by the divine energy of the Fairy Queen. Monkeys, skull kids, and even a witch make their homes here, enjoying the protection the chaotic magic brings as well as the strange ingredients that take form from the strange magic. The majority of the Lost Woods is shrouded in mist, making a large maze that is difficult to traverse as the mist can create hallucinations, cancel sound, and block sight all at once. Those who get lost there transform into either Skull Kids or Stalfos, depending on their age. These woods also sometimes contain locations such as the portal to Termina or Temple of Time.
Kakariko Village
Kakariko Village is generally the second largest city in Hyrule, only dwarfed by Hyrule Castle Town. This village tends to be more rural in nature and is commonly tied to the Sheikah, the original founders of the village. Most of the buildings here are clean, well kept, and spiritually significant while the city itself is full of hustle and bustle and often at the forefront of both magic and technology.
Satori Mountain
Satori Mountain is a generally tranquil mountain within Hyrule that is shrouded in mystery and wonder. It’s sometimes known as the spiritual domain of the deity Satori and the Blupees that serve under him and is believed to be the source of magic within the rupees that people find scattered throughout the land. While a pleasant and tranquil place it’s also often considered cursed by the locals of Hyrule; many have gone into the mountain’s depths only to disappear without a trace.
Snowpeak
Snowpeak is a large mountain that towers over the rest of the other mountains in the region. The mountain has both deep cavern networks spread throughout it, a large cliff face, and year-round snow at its peak. It is known to be one of the greatest feats of strength for an explorer within Hyrule to climb the mountain to its fullest.
Temple of Time
The temple of time is finely marbled with Timeshift Stones etched into its many walls, allowing time to continuously be manipulated while within it. The temple itself was built to hold the Master Sword, the sacred weapon used by the champion of the goddess Hylia to defeat the original demons that plagued Hyrule and the key to manipulating the time magic that resides within the temple. It is stated only a worthy and chosen hero can remove the Master Sword from its pedestal, with some incarnations of the hero even becoming the defender of the Door of Time after their adventures come to an end.

Beyond Hyrule
Calatia
Calatia is a wealthy and prosperous land, separated from the other nations by tall mountains. The population of Calatia follow their Hylian leader, Queen Celst, a powerful sorceress that uses her spells of protection to prevent those with evil intent from entering her borders. Due to this the land of Calatia is a communal paradise, with each person supporting themselves and assisting their town for the common good, however this self sufficiency has caused it to ignore the affairs of the other nations, making problems in the past whenever the end of the world is at stake. Calatia is also rumored to house the eight essences of secrets, but that's only a rumor as nobody has been able to document where and what these essences are.
Holodrum
Holodrum is the home to the essences of the Seasons, making it the region of the world that is influenced by them more than anywhere else. In this land, spring is always full of life and vibrant greens, summer comes with scorching heat waves that dry up much of the water in the land and rampant vine growth, autumn always produces a bountiful harvest and beautiful orange colors, and winter is wracked with ice and snow. The citizens of Holodrum use this predictable extreme weather to guarantee their success, making sure to prepare well before summer or winter hits to survive the fluctuations found here. Holodrum is unique in the fact that it has no form of centralized government, making it ideal for those who want to live free from the oppression of rulers found within the rest of the world.
Hytopia
A land of fashion, Hytopia was blessed long ago by a sacred power that now runs through the very ground itself. This blessing makes it so that clothes worn within Hytopia enhance the wearer's abilities, especially if the clothing is well made. Because of this, it's known as the fashion capital of the entire world, with many designers and those seeking power coming to Hytopia to exploit the land's uniqueness. The region itself is fairly disjointed, with many small distinct areas found within it that have few of the sentient races living anywhere except the capital city.
Labrynna
Time has stronger effects in Labrynna than anywhere else in the world due to the eight essences of time that are housed there. While within Labrynna the seasons come and go twice as fast and those within it age rapidly, breeding a sense of urgency to living life to its fullest and breeding invention and pleasure while alive. Within the land many civilizations and races pop up then are snuffed out from the quick passing of time, littering the entire country with ruins of many different architectures and cultures tied together, with the new races building upon the foundations of the old and no real way to know which race will be the dominant one of Labrynna at any given time.
New Hyrule
The confusingly named New Hyrule is actually the oldest version of Hyrule, buried underneath the sea and abandoned long ago until those living in the current Hyrule rediscovered fragments of their past while traveling back across the ocean.
Subrosia
Subrosia is a large volcanic world deep underneath Holodrum as part of the depths. This world is home of the Subrosians, who prefer to keep their world hidden from those on the surface. This volcanic world is difficult to breathe in and incredibly hot, making those who venture into it require special protection from the elements if they plan on staying there for a long duration.
The Depths
Deep underneath Hyrule is a place of darkness that spreads out across the entire land, mirroring the region above with its changes in elevation. In this land spirits wander and ancient technology and shrines from times long past can be found amongst strange alien plants that would not survive on the surface. Most of the things living within the depths get energy from plants that take light from the sun above and send it deep below.

Other Realms
Kolohint
Kolohint is a dream realm created by the Wind Fish, a giant whale god that rules over sleep and brings divine inspiration to those whose dreams he touches. When he grants a dream it becomes incredibly vivid, meshing what a creature was currently doing with the knowledge and experiences of other lands and transforming these feelings into a realm known as Kolohint. Sometimes this land is an island, sometimes it's a distant planet, and sometimes it's a different country, all depending on how to most realistically integrate the newcomer to the environment being generated in the dream world. After a while the dream of Kolohint unravels due to a creature overcoming the adversity within it, with the creature having slept for a long amount of time and retaining the knowledge and experience they gained within the dream.
Lorule
Lorule is a parallel world that is very closely tied with the plane of Hyrule, mirroring the world in nearly every way. The Triforce within that world was misused to the point that it began to destroy itself, taking the plane with it. While the plane was restored to its former glory thanks to the Triforce of Hyrule, lacking all connections with the divine means it will slowly fall into ruin once again. There are fissures within the world that can lead to Hyrule from Lorule and vice-versa, however they are impossible to detect for all but the most powerful sorcerers.
Termina
Termina is another parallel world that is connected to Hyrule, this time through Arcane magic. This world is a large circle that leads out of a central portal that connects it to Hyrule. The Terminan world is very different from Hyrule, with divinity and gods scarce. The gods the Terminans do worship are the Four Giants, beings of incredible power that keep their world intact. The people of Termina are mirrored reflections of those in Hyrule, having the same genetics but completely different personalities and skill. It's said that the Lost Woods has the closest ties to this land.
The Dark Realm
The Dark Realm is the dimension where demons reside. Every once in a while a Demon will find a way to escape the confines of the Dark Realm and enter Hyrule, where they will cause chaos wherever they can. The realm itself is vast and empty, with demons who come into contact with one another clashing and subjugating each other to their twisted rules and schemes. Only the most foolish of people would ever enter the Dark Realm uninvited, as they may become a demon themselves if they stray inside of it for too long.
The First World
The First World is the world the Minish escaped from long ago, hidden behind a door within the Minish’s home that has been completely sealed off. None living know what the Minish left behind and what they were escaping, but rumors abound that the world may contain infinite power of some sort - one just needs to find and open the way to this ancient land.
The Sacred Realm
The land once known as The Sacred Realm was a dimension closely related to Hyrule, said to have formed to hold the precious Triforce after the goddesses departed the world. As Ganon remained sealed away within this land it twisted in his image, becoming a warped realm connected to Hyrule that holds the strongest of his forces. The realm always changes to match the previous or current wielder of the triforce so the sacred realm is often different from era to era.
The Silent Realm
The Silent Realms are a group of small pocket dimensions used by the goddess Hylia to test those who think themselves worthy of becoming a hero. While in this realm a creature astral projects their spirit into this plane while leaving their body behind. While undergoing a trial a creature must use their stealth and cunning to avoid the guardians and watchers that patrol it, collect the many sacred tears of the trial, and return to where their body began the trial. Any damage taken while in the silent realm causes a creature to fail and a successful trial tends to grant either a helpful magic item or a boon to the one who completes it.
The Twilight Realm
The Realm of Twilight is a world between worlds, a world that troublemakers have been banished to countless times. Those who enter this world not through the legendary Mirror of Twilight are transformed into spirits, forced to live with their fears forever. Those blessed directly by the gods however retain their bodies and instead transform into divine beasts. The Twili were the original people banished into this realm long ago through the mirror, allowing them to maintain their bodies and souls within it until the magic of this world slowly warped their bodies into what they are today.
