Magic Item Characteristics
When a generic magic item is made it can have a few special features or unique characteristics as talked about on page 142 of the Dungeon Master’s Guide. For who created it/who it’s intended for, use the following chart instead of the one found there:

Wondrous Items
Ancient Core
Wondrous Item, Rare
Ancient Cores are used to power ancient devices and electronic devices alike. Once inserted into a device that device is permanently activated until the core or device is destroyed.
Ancient Furnace
Wondrous Item, Legendary
This magical furnace can be used to craft Ancient Weapons, Armors, and Shields by a character proficient in Smith's Tools. To get the necessary parts for one of these items a character needs to provide screws and other materials from 5 total Guardians, which can be found by making a successful DC 15 Investigation check when salvaging them.
Ancient Saddle
Wondrous Item, Very Rare (requires attunement)
This saddle allows the attuned creature to summon the mount that wears this saddle as an action, appearing within 5 feet of the attuned creature. This cannot be used if the attuned creature is on a different plane of existence of their mount.
Alchemy Stone
Wondrous Item, Very Rare
These special stones improve a vehicle or object’s durability. When melted down they create a plating for the object that increases the AC of that object to 25 and doubles their hit point maximum.
Aurora Stone
Wondrous Item, Common
This fragile stone has a faint glow in it. When crushed as an action the creature nearest to the one who crushed it immediately is drawn to the light display it gives off, moving their speed towards the one who crushed the stone as safely as possible.
Beam Emitter
Wondrous Item, Common
This electronic device is magical in nature, allowing the one holding it to make a ranged attack with it when powered with a range of 300 feet. This ranged attack deals 2d8 radiant damage on a hit. Creatures are automatically proficient with this item.
Bee Badge
Wondrous Item, Uncommon (requires attunement)
While this badge is worn you have resistance against attacks made from swarms.
Blessed Screw
Wondrous Item, Legendary (requires attunement)
As an action the blessed screw can be inserted into any construct with 0 hit points or fewer. The construct is immediately reactivated and tries to assist the one who activated it to the best of its ability (regardless of its original intentions or personality) until the screw is no longer inserted within it. This can only be activated on a single construct every 24 hours.
Blue Candle
Wondrous Item, Uncommon
This candle can be used as an action to set a 5 by 5 cube in front of you ablaze for a round. Creatures who move into this cube or start their turn there must make a Dexterity saving throw with a DC equal to 11 + your proficiency bonus. On a failed save they take 2d6 fire damage.
Bug Medal
Wondrous Item (neck), Uncommon
While wearing this medal you automatically sense the presence of bugs within 1 mile of you. This sense tells you the amount of them and the location, but not what type of bug they are.
Burial Shroud
Wondrous Item, Very Rare
As an action this shroud can be placed on an undead creature within 5 feet of you. Both the undead and this shroud immediately turn to dust.
Cannon
Wondrous Item, Common
This electronic device is magical in nature, allowing the one holding it to make a ranged attack as though they used a bomb with a range of 120 feet when powered. Creatures are automatically proficient with this item.
Carmine Pearl
Wondrous Item, Common
This pearl can be used to empower an electronic device, making it last twice as long when powered.
Crystal Skull
Wondrous Item, Common
This fragile skull can be shattered on a melee weapon as a bonus action to make the next attack using that weapon target each creature within its melee weapon range.
Cursed Medal
Wondrous Item (neck), Uncommon (requires attunement)
Whenever you reduce a creature to 0 HP while wearing this amulet, roll a d6. If the roll is a 5 or a 6 they drop an additional heart while if the roll is a 3 or a 4 they drop an additional 5 rupees. This magical medal is cursed and prevents the use of any bottled items in addition to the normal effects of a cursed item.
Dark Mirror
Wondrous Item, Legendary (requires attunement)
You choose a creature you have seen before and spend 1 hour creating a shadowy duplicate of them that manifests within 5 feet of the mirror. This duplicate is the same as that creature except it considers you an ally, is aberrant in nature, has its alignment changed to evil, and cannot cast spells or use magical equipment that the creature normally would have. You may have a number of duplicates summoned at any given time equal to your proficiency bonus.
Deku Leaf
Wondrous Item, Uncommon
You take no damage from falling when holding this magic item in both hands. When falling, you may glide, moving 2 feet horizontally for every foot you fall vertically. You must take a short or long rest before gliding with this item again.
Earthwake Manual
Wondrous Item, Uncommon (requires attunement)
While attuned to this item you know the Earthwake cantrip and use your Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma modifier as your spellcasting ability score for this spell.
Energy Cell
Wondrous Item, Uncommon (requires attunement)
This magical battery provides power for an electronic device for 1 minute. Once used this cannot be used again until it recharges after a short rest. A creature can be attuned to multiple Energy Cells at once using a single attunement slot.
Extravagant Saddle
Wondrous Item, Rare
While riding a mount with this saddle you may add your proficiency bonus to Charisma checks you make.
Fairy Lantern
Wondrous Item, Very Rare
While carrying this lantern in one hand you may use the Fairy Fire and Dancing Lights spells. Charisma is your casting stat for them.
Fairy Powder
Wondrous Item, Very Rare
This powder can be poured on a creature to remove all curses, diseases, and conditions currently affecting it. This powder is consumed upon use.
Flame Emitter
Wondrous Item, Common
This electronic device is magical in nature, allowing the one holding it to make a ranged attack with it when powered against all creatures within a 15 foot cone from yourself. This ranged attack deals 1d6 fire damage on a hit. Creatures are automatically proficient with this item.
Flame Lantern
Wondrous Item, Uncommon
While carrying this lantern in one hand you may use the Produce Flame cantrip. Charisma is your casting stat for it.
Frost Emitter
Wondrous Item, Common
This electronic device is magical in nature, allowing the one holding it to make a ranged attack with it when powered against all creatures within a 10 foot line from yourself. This ranged attack deals 1d6 cold damage on a hit and slows them until the end of your next turn. Creatures are automatically proficient with this item.
Gasha Seed
Wondrous Item, Common
Gasha seeds can be planted in soft soil and transform into Gasha Nuts after 24 hours. Breaking open a Gasha Nut provides a random item from the chart below (roll a d100 to determine):
01-10) 1d4 Recovery Hearts
11-20) 50 Rupees
21-30) 100 Rupees

Ghost Lantern
Wondrous Item, Rare
This lantern does not require oil to alight or remain lit. If an incorporeal undead creature is within 500 feet of this lantern it glows with a pale-blue light instead of its usual flame color.
Golden Bug
Wondrous Item, Common
These special bugs have absorbed special nutrients, making them magical and golden in nature. They give off dim light out to 5 feet when in darkness and become invisible when in light. When used in potion making a golden bug can be used to replace any potion that is worth 50 rupees or less.
Golden Leaf
Wondrous Item, Common
Golden leaves make a special potion when boiled, losing their magic in the process. When imbibed this potion transforms the one who drank it into a small frog for 8 hours. Becoming injured in this form removes the effect.
Golden Scale
Wondrous Item, Rare
While held you may swim at any depth underwater and not become exhausted.
Gust Jar
Wondrous Item, Uncommon
When wielding this item in two hands you may cast the Gust cantrip. Charisma is your ability score for this spell.
Heart Medal
Wondrous Item (neck), Uncommon (requires attunement)
Whenever you reduce a creature to 0 HP while wearing this amulet, roll a d6. If the roll is a 5 or a 6 they drop an additional recovery heart.
Lantern of Vision
Wondrous Item, Rare
While this hooden lantern is burning all creatures within range of its light become visible and corporeal until they leave its light, even if they normally wouldn’t be.
Lens of Truth
Wondrous Item, Very Rare (requires attunement)
When looking through this lens you can see invisible creatures and objects as if they were visible as well as if objects and creatures are illusions or not. Objects and creatures revealed in this way appear ghostly and translucent.
Life Medal
Wondrous Item (neck), Uncommon (requires attunement)
While wearing this amulet you have an additional hit die and extra hit points equal to your proficiency bonus.
Life Tree Fruit
Wondrous Item, Very Rare
This fruit can be ground up to make Fairy Powder, which can be poured on a creature to remove all curses, diseases, and conditions currently affecting it. This fruit is consumed upon use.
Light of Blessing
Wondrous Item, Rare
Praying to a God or Goddess that you worship while holding four lights of blessing transforms them into a Blessing granted by that deity. The type of blessing should be appropriate to the deity being prayed to.
Magic Armor
Wondrous Item, Legendary (requires attunement)
As an action you may activate this crystal and expend a spell slot, becoming immune to all damage until it is no longer active. At the end of each of your turns the armor requires you to expend an additional spell slot for it to remain active.
Magic Cape
Wondrous Item (neck), Very Rare (requires attunement)
When you speak the command word while wearing this cape you automatically cast the Invisibility spell on yourself without expending spell components. This feature cannot be used again until you take a short or long rest.
Magic Mirror
Wondrous Item, Very Rare
As an action this Mirror can be used to create a portal that can return up to 6 creatures back to Hyrule from another realm. This mirror can then be used within the same spot it was previously used in to warp those same creatures back to that other realm with another action.
Magic Oar
Wondrous Item, Uncommon
Maneuvering a small boat or raft using this oar is done with advantage.
Magic Powder
Wondrous Item, Uncommon
This strange powder can be sprinkled on creatures for a wide variety of effects. When used on a creature roll a percentile die. The effect that happens is based on this die roll, lasts 24 hours, and the affected creature cannot be affected by magic powder again until 24 hours have passed.

06-10) Shrink to the next smallest size category
11-15) Become vulnerable to a random damage type
16-20) Become 1d20 years younger
21-25) Decrease in height by 3d100%

61-65) Skin tone changes color
66-70) Hair changes color
71-75) Increase in weight by 3d100%
76-80) Increase in height by 3d100%
81-85) Age 1d20 years
86-90) Gain resistance to a random damage type
91-95) Become the next largest size category
96-99) Transform into a fairy
00) All ability scores become 20
Magical Key
Wondrous Item, Legendary
This key can open any mundane lock without fail.
Master Cycle Zero
Wondrous Item, Legendary (requires attunement)
This sacred Motorcycle ignores difficult terrain, is indestructible, and can be summoned as an action by the one attuned to it.
Master Ore
Wondrous Item, Legendary
A smithy can use this ore in their forging to upgrade a piece of magical equipment by +1, to a maximum of +3.
Mermaid Scale
Wondrous Item, Rare
While carried it takes twice as long as normal for you to begin drowning.
Monster Saddle
Wondrous Item, Rare
This saddle grants the creature it fits upon the Extra Attack feature, allowing them to make an additional attack roll on their turn whenever they take an attack action.
Moon Pearl
Wondrous Item, Legendary (requires attunement)
You are immune to all effects that would change your shape against your will.
Moon’s Tear
Wondrous Item, Uncommon
As an action this tear can be shattered to transform a 300-foot area into a zone of low gravity for 1 minute. While the area is low gravity creatures within it can jump three times their normal jump height, ignore falling damage, and are slowed.
Paraglider
Wondrous Item, Uncommon
You take no damage from falling when holding this magic item in both hands. While in the air you may use your movement to fly up to 20 feet, but you may never move upwards in this way. After flying for a number of rounds equal to your Constitution modifier (minimum 1 round), you immediately fall to the ground.
Potion Medal
Wondrous Item (neck), Uncommon (requires attunement)
While wearing this amulet the effects of any bottled potion you drink happen twice (or have their durations doubled if having twice the effect wouldn't make sense).
Rabbit Net
Wondrous Item, Uncommon
This magical bug-catching net’s pole can extend and hop outwards, allowing it to capture tiny creatures within 30 feet of you.
Red Candle
Wondrous Item, Very Rare
This candle can be used as an action to set a 5 foot cube within 10 feet of you ablaze for a minute. Creatures who move into this cube or start their turn there must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save they take 2d6 fire damage.
Roc’s Cape
Wondrous Item (neck), Legendary (requires attunement)
You have a flying speed equal to your movement speed while attuned to this item.
Roc’s Feather
Wondrous Item, Uncommon
As an action you may jump your speed.
Rupee Medal
Wondrous Item (neck), Uncommon (requires attunement)
Whenever you reduce a creature to 0 HP while wearing this amulet, roll a d6. If the roll is a 5 or a 6 they drop an additional 5 rupees.
Sage’s Will
Wondrous Item, Very Rare
This special item implants the memories of past sages into you. When holding four Sage’s Will you may spend a Long Rest empowering yourself with these and choosing a subclass you are not currently part of from a class you already have a subclass for. You gain the features of that subclass up to your level and continue to gain these features as your level increases. A creature can only be empowered by Sage’s Will once.
Seashell Sensor
Wondrous Item, Uncommon (requires attunement)
As an action you may use this sensor to detect all aquatic beasts within 500 feet of you, learning their amounts and what types of creatures they are.
Secret Stone
Wondrous Item, Legendary (requires attunement)
While attuned to this item you may tie your spirit to another creature, allowing them to summon a copy of you within 5 feet of themselves as an action that shares your senses, personality, statistics, spellcasting, and all other features. If this copy is reduced to 0 hit points you immediately fall unconscious, requiring a Long Rest to wake up. If this item is consumed it instead transforms the one who consumed it permanently into a dragon.
Shard of Agony
Wondrous Item, Rare (requires attunement)
When holding this crystal it vibrates and glows whenever you are within 10 feet of an illusion.
Shock Emitter
Wondrous Item, Common
This electronic device is magical in nature, allowing the one holding it to make a melee attack with it when powered against a creature within 5 feet of you. This attack deals 1d6 lightning damage on a hit, causes them to drop what they are holding, and causes them to not be able to take reactions until the end of your next turn. Creatures are automatically proficient with this item.
Silver Scale
Wondrous Item, Uncommon
While held you may swim at a depth of 400 feet or less and not become exhausted.
Spirit Emblem
Wondrous Item, Rare
Collecting and consuming four of these emblems increases a single ability score of your choosing by 1, to a maximum of 20.
Stamina Scroll
Wondrous Item, Rare (requires attunement)
While attuned to this scroll your Constitution is 18. This scroll has no effect if your constitution is already 18 or higher.
Tiger Scroll
Wondrous Item, Uncommon (requires attunement)
By attuning to this scroll you gain 2d8 superiority dice and may do a single maneuver that spends these dice as shown in the Battle Master or Hero Fighter’s list of maneuvers. The specific maneuver learned is chosen at the time of creation of this scroll and these maneuver dice are regained when you finish a Short or Long rest.
Timeshift Stone
Wondrous Item, Very Rare
These sacred stones emit an aura of time travel when active, transforming the area around it into what it looked like at a fixed point in time long ago. Timeshift stones vary in size and timeframe and can be activated or dismissed by touching them as an action.
Tingle Tuner
Wondrous Item, Uncommon (requires attunement)
This strange device can be used to communicate with Tingle across any distance (including across different realms). As an action when holding this device you can immediately spend 50 rupees to conjure and attack with a super bomb.
Travel Medallion
Wondrous Item, Very Rare (requires attunement)
While attuned to this medallion you may use it to designate your current location as a travel point. When activated a second time while attuned you immediately teleport to your travel point. You lose your travel point if you are no longer attuned to this medallion.
Treasure Medal
Wondrous Item (neck), Uncommon (requires attunement)
Whenever you reduce a creature to 0 HP while wearing this amulet, roll a d6. If the roll is a 5 or a 6 you may find an additional nonmagical item on them that would make sense to be on that type of creature (for example, an extra deku stick from a deku sprout).
Tuni Nut
Wondrous Item, Legendary
This magical nut keeps weather tranquil and balanced within 10 miles of it, preventing all natural disasters from occurring within range and maintaining fair weather throughout the area.
Vessel of Light
Wondrous Item, Legendary
This magical vessel holds Tears of Light. When full the Greater Restoration and Time Sync spells are cast upon the area within 5 miles of the vessel and any creatures or objects within the area that are from a different dimension are immediately banished to their original dimension.
Water Dragon Scale
Wondrous Item, Uncommon (requires attunement)
While attuned to this item you do not have a penalty with weapons when fighting underwater.
Whirlwind
Wondrous Item, Uncommon
As an action you may cast the Tulin’s Gust spell.
Zonai Adhesive
Wondrous Item, Common
This green glue bonds electronic devices and objects together with advantage on the Investigation checks needed to do so. To break a bond made with this a DC 20 Strength check is required.
Zonai Capsule
Wondrous Item, Common
When activated as an action this capsule stores a single object it touches that fits within a 10 foot cube, shrinking it down to be safely stored in this marble-sized device and making it weightless. Another action can be used to break this capsule, returning the object to normal.
